RRB ALP Exam Pattern

Stage 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT-1)

  • Mathematics: Number Systems, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Average, Interest, Profit and Loss, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Algebra, Geometry, and Data Interpretation.
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, Similarities and Differences, Spatial Aptitude, Problem Solving, Analysis, Judgment, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Discrimination, Observation, Relationship Concepts, Arithmetical Reasoning, and Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.  
  • General Awareness: Current Events of National and International Importance, General Science, History, Geography, Polity, Economics, and General Knowledge.  

Stage 2: Computer-Based Test (CBT-2)

Syllabus:

  • Technical Subjects: Relevant to the post applied for, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering.  

Stage 3: Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

This test assesses the candidate’s aptitude for the job role.

Selection Process

The selection process for the ALP posts involves the following stages:

  1. Computer-Based Test (CBT-1): Candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in this stage.
  2. Computer-Based Test (CBT-2): Shortlisted candidates appear for the second stage of the CBT.  
  3. Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): The candidates who qualify in CBT-2 will undergo CBAT.
